The digital slides - not only are they of superior resolution, but the scanning time is also as short as possible. Working together with my histology team, and the development team at Morphle, we have developed a protocol that allows for routine skin biopsies, such as primary punch and shave biopsies, to be scanned in ~1 minute each. Excision sections (larger tissue) scan at about 2 minutes per slide. On average, we can scan 6 sets of slides in 8-10 minutes. The process for loading and scanning the slides is extremely intuitive and training my staff has been quite easy. In terms of interpreting cases, using the MorphoLens 6 scanned images, I find my sign-out to be extremely robust. As background, I have worked on a number of digital Pathology platforms. The MorphoLens 6 slide scans are by far the best I have worked with from a resolution and quality perspective. This system is also the easiest to manipulate from an end-user perspective for zooming, rotating, annotating, etc.
